Invest in the development of a substantial niche market that has been enabled by online learning technologies and new coursework delivery methods
The Business
This start-up business plans to develop a social network Internet-based platform for health care students and teachers. The platform would provide e-learning and videoconferencing as an alternative to more expensive private lessons either through schools or freelance teachers.

The platform would deliver downloadable and live interactive courses, and lessons and exercises by online videoconferencing as well as personalized educational advice and psychological coaching to assist students to adjust their work efforts. The platform would also give students continuous evaluation and ranking during the academic year through examinations each week, month and at each semester. The platform will deliver content over the Internet but also to tablet and mobile devices.
Market
In Europe, preparation for entrance examinations to medical, dental and pharmaceutical colleges is expensive, but there are currently few alternatives. In addition, students do not have access to a good monitoring system to evaluate their progress. Each year around 75,000 students register for the first year of health studies, and perhaps 90% of them buy lessons and courses outside of the university, estimated at an average of 1000 Euros per student. The estimated total market size of French students is around EUR 60m per year.

The Company management team consists of a an IT-Engineer and CEO of an IT Consulting company as CTO, and a former academic biomedical scientist and entrepreneur who has worked with innovative startups and SMEs since 2007 as CEO. The CEO previously founded and managed a private school dedicated for the support first year students at a health college in southern France. The Company is seeking a venture capital investor.
