Domaine ChanzyOLMA Invest SAS today announced that the court in Chalon-sur-Saône had approved its purchase of Burgundy wine producer Domaine Chanzy from bankruptcy. OLMA Invest is leading a consortium of seven private investors including four French citizens, two UK citizens and one American. Domaine Chanzy is located in village of Bouzeron in Côte Chalonnaise and owns 43 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Burgundy.

OLMA Invest has committed to retain all of the current workers at Domaine Chanzy. It also plans an ambitious strategy to continue to make improvements and develop Domaine Chanzy, a process that began after the Chanzy family sold it in 2008.

In addition to retaining Domaine Chanzy’s existing workers, OLMA plans to build the domaine team further with Burgundy wine specialists, to make additional vineyard acquisitions, and new investments in equipment and marketing.

OLMA Invest is a Paris based independent private equity company. OLMA specializes in investments in growth businesses with emphasis on acquisitions and turnarounds. The managing director of OLMA is Philippe Der Megreditchian, a graduate of HEC with twenty years of experience in direct investments. OLMA Invest partners already have two vineyard investments: 60 hectares in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and 100 hectares in Costières de Nîmes.

Bouzeron is located about 20 kilometers southwest of Beaune. Domaine Chanzy has vineyards nearby in Côte Chalonnaise with additional holdings stretching into Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Domaine Chanzy appellations include Rully, Mercurey Bouzeron, Puligny-Montrachet, Santenay, and Vosne-Romanée.
