Join a successful telecom leader in Moldova for the development of a new LTE license operatorThe Business
The Company is a new multimedia telecom services provider in Moldova that will offer 4G mobile services, IPTV, Voice-over-IP, and high speed Internet over a FTTH network. There is a window of opportunity for a new operator to be developed in 2012 when LTE licenses become available. This Project is being developed by Accent Electronics, a well-known Moldovan Company that was the former shareholder of the number 2 mobile provider in Moldova (it sold its shares in 2003 and the non-compete period has expired). Accent has strong telecom knowhow and owns a national underground duct network of 1300 km, which is ready for fiber optic cable deployment. It is a local partner to such international players as IBM, HP, Alcatel-Lucent, Dell, Samsung, Draka, Fujikura and others. Accent is confident of its ability to win one of the LTE licenses to be issued in Moldova by Q3 2012.

Market
Competition is weak in Moldova’s fixed and mobile market. Broadband penetration is the lowest in the region, with penetration in 2010 of Internet access services at fixed locations and broadband Internet access at about 7.6%. Fixed line penetration is 32% versus a EU average of 70%. Broadband and Internet are expected to grow at 34-40% over the next decade. Mobile penetration in Moldova is 90% as compared with 130% in mature markets.
The Project Developer is seeking co-financing for the USD 83m overall equity financing investment (to be shared with Accent Electronics).
