This Brazilian Company prospects and explores mineral deposits with the intent to commercialize them or as the basis of development joint ventures. Supported by the extensive experience of its logistic parent company, the Company focuses on integration between the mining and logistics, making possible lower costs for the international commercialization of iron ore. The Company has been active since 1990 and has developed the business sensitivity required to make investment in Brazil easier and safer.
The Company owns mining rights in the Iron Quadrangle, one of the most important mining provinces in the world. It also has large assets in Bahia state, where the recent discovery of many new iron ore deposits has brought the region under an “iron ore rush.” The Company has close to one hundred mineral reserves spread out within a few states including Minas Gerais and Bahia. Among them are sixteen iron ore projects with good railway access and infrastructure in the Iron Quadrangle region of Minas Gerais.
Brazil is the world’s third largest producer of bauxite. The Company has eighteen areas with bauxite potential in Minas Gerais.
Brazil is the world’s second largest producer of manganese. The Company has four manganese locations in Minas Gerais.
Market
Brazil has excellent geology with many world-class mines. It benefits from a stable political, legal and economic environment, solid and sustainable growth, well-developed infrastructure and a highly educated workforce. Also, the country is one of the largest producers of iron ore, ranks second in the world in bauxite production and third in manganese, filling supply chain demand for both local and export markets.
The Company is seeking a partner that would be interested to invest on a “farm-in” basis. The Company’s goal is to develop exploration side-by-side with an investor and at each step evaluate the results and avoid unnecessary risks.
