The Project sponsors, a well-known Turkish family and experienced suppliers to the construction industry in Turkey and Russia, have invested time and money to develop plans for a cement production facility in Turkey with a clinker capacity of 1.95 million tons per year. Over the last six years, the Project has obtained all necessary approvals. Construction is to begin in October-November 2011.
The Project budget is approximately EUR 150 million. The Project sponsors have expended about EUR 30 million for land and approvals, and negotiated a commercial loan of EUR 100 million. Turnover is projected to be EUR 100 million.
Market
The cement plant is to be constructed in Marmara region, which accounts for about a third of most of Turkey’s economic activity. Turkey is the world’s largest cement exporter. The Project will serve Turkish and international markets.
The Project sponsors are willing to accept investors for up to 50% of the Project costs.
