Chinese telecommunications equipment maker Datang Telecom plans to buy browser and mobile game developer Yaowan Yule Network Technology. The total consideration for the acquisition is a combination of stock and cash valued at CNY 1.70 billion, the Marbridge Daily writes citing a stock exchange filing. Yaowan Yule currently operates over seventy browser games on its own browser gaming platform as well as subsidiary company platforms. At the end of March, Yaowan Yule had over 1.06 million registered gamers. Revenues in the first quarter totalled CNY 124.26 million and profits stood at CNY 30.80 million. Last month, Datang abandoned plans to buy Shanghai-based game maker Sanqiwan Network Technology.
