Invest in commercial development of fish and mollusk aquaculture in a large and receptive seafood marketThe Business
The Company is developing an aquaculture business that was founded by a highly professional and talented team in 2010 to specialize in fish and mollusk farming in Ukraine. First stage of the project involves the joint breeding of rainbow trout and two species of mollusks: Black Sea mussels and Pacific oysters. The progressive and innovative technology to be used has no analogues in Ukraine. Only organic feed and ingredients will be used for fish feeding.
The Project will be developed in the area of Laspi Bay and envisages creation of a unified production facility that includes 30,000 m3 of cages for rainbow trout cultivation on the area of two hectares and submerged mussel-oyster carriers on 20 hectares territory. In the future the Company also plans to build a fish processing plant. Part of the aquaculture harvest will be used as raw material for further processing and manufacture of such products as calcium and mineral food supplements, medical products, and cosmetics.
Market
There is currently no fish aquaculture in Ukraine, however there are some small private farms for mollusks. The Company’s products will be sold in Ukrainian, CIS and European markets.
This greenfield project requires private equity funding in amount of USD 2.5 million, which would be allocated USD 1.7m to capex, and USD 0.8m to working capital.
