The principal objective of the Project is to convert agricultural waste into energy and to protect the soil and groundwater. The Project will accomplish its objective by efficiently converting manure and slurry into de-mineralized water and dried fertilizer pellets using energy from the anaerobic digestion process. The proposed Project would have a capacity of 2.6MW delivered from 4 generators of 650KW each based upon treatment of the following biomass waste sources:
– Cow and pig manure: 35,000 tons/year
– Grass: 25,000 tons/year
– Other non-food biomass: 10,000 tons per year.
Market
This Project benefits from additional regional funding of $2m, guarantees under Belgium biomass and FIT regulations for the sales of the electric energy, and additional revenues through collection of green certificates. The Project Promoters are seeking both equity and debt financing.
