Invest in an energy efficient plastic recycling plant a market with rapidly expanding demand
The Business
The Project involves the development of a plant for simultaneous production of polyethylene regenerate and PET regenerate (in bottle-to-bottle system) as well as of liquid fuel. The plant will be energy self-sustaining. This Project is based upon new technology that allows production at a high level of energy efficiency and maximum productivity. Raw material (post-consumer LDPE, PET packaging and waste oils) will be supplied from Romania, Serbia, and European Community countries such as Italy, Greece, and Hungary. There are over 1,000 companies in Romania that are authorized to collect post-consumer plastic packaging.

The Project Promoter is an existing recycling company that already has achieved a Romania market share of more than 5%. Market share is expected to reach at least 10% with the new plant.
Market
Plant output will primarily go to Western Europe. Sales contracts have been signed for 100% of the production capacity. Because of high market demand, the Promoter has planned the purchase of land that will be sufficient to triple capacity.

The Ministry of Environment has confirmed $6.3m of funding. The Exim bank will provide a guarantee for the equipment purchase. The Promoters are seeking debt financing for the balance of the financing.
